At Meraki Dance Academy we seek to provide a positive and enriching environment. Please read our studio policies as we expect our students to adhere to them at all times.

 

General Expectations

  • For the student's safety, no one is allowed in any studio without a teacher present, without permission.

  • No food, drink or gum in the classrooms. Only water is allowed.

  • No running or horseplay anywhere in the building.

  • No street shoes on the dance floors.

  • Arrive on time, or a bit early, and prepared for classes. Older dancers should arrive early enough to allow themselves to warm up their muscles prior to class starting.

  • Missed lessons can be made up in any class for their age with availability. Classes do not have to be made up in the same style of dance if one is not available. Experimentation is encouraged. Contact the office when making up a class to make sure there is room in that class.

  • There will be a $25 fee on all returned checks.

 

 

General Policies

  • Payment Policy: Tuition payment is due by the 1st of each month. If by the 5th your balance has not been paid, a $15 late fee will be attached to your account. We require a credit/debit card number to be on file for each student. Your card will be processed on the 10th of each month if any outstanding balance (including tuition and late fee) has not been previously paid. If by the 10th, no payment has been received, the child will be un-enrolled and not allowed to take class until the remaining balance has been paid. If you wish to be enrolled in our AutoPay system, please see below. If you do not wish to do so, we require you to pay your balance by cash, check, or credit/debit card by the 1st of each month. Tuition is non-refundable. Please make checks payable to Meraki Dance Academy.

  • AutoPay: If you are enrolled in AutoPay we will process your tuition payment for you on the 1st of the month. Credit Cards declined will be charged a $15 late fee if other payment is not received by the 5th of the month.

  • Tuition Rates: You agree that your monthly tuition prices are calculated on a session basis and will stay the same each month as some months have more classes than others and School Breaks and Holiday’s occur. 

  • Class Attendance: Our Teachers are prepared each class to teach your child. If your child misses class, you are still required to make your full monthly tuition. It is also your own responsibility to find your child’s make up dates. Any class you choose to do your makeup in needs to be below full capacity so we will have enough room for your child. 

  • Dropping Classes: You understand that a 30 day notice is required should you decide to cancel your students enrollment. You understand that you are responsible to pay for any fees that have been assessed prior to cancellation of enrollment (tuition, costume fee, clothing etc). If you decide to discontinue classes without prior notice, we will charge you for the month, un-enroll your child, and remove your card on file. 

  • Recital/Costume Fee: Meraki Dance Academy holds a studio recital each year for all students. Each enrolled student will need to pay a recital fee of $25 per dancer. There are NO refunds for students that decide not to be in the recital after the fee has been paid. Classes will purchase recital costume(s) that could range in price depending on the class. This fee will be announced in October and due in full on December 1st. If a costume has been ordered for your child and you later decide not to participate in the recital, you still agree to pay for the costume fee. To receive your costume ALL TUITION and ALL COSTUME fees must be paid. 

  • Student Attire/Behavior Expectations: Students will need to be in the dress code requirements specified on our website. We sell all of the necessary items you will need. Your child is expected to exhibit appropriate behavior in class and in the event that the teacher feels your child is being disruptive in class they may be asked to leave class.

  • Private Lesson Cancellation Policy: Private lessons must be cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time to avoid a cancellation fee of $25.00. The lesson may be rescheduled for a later date, and will still be full price. This fee will also be charged when there is a no-show.

  • Meraki Dance Company: Meraki Dance Academy has a performing/competition company. If you would like to join or would like more information, please email the studio at info@merakidanceacademy.com.

  • Students of Meraki Dance Academy may have the opportunity to be photographed during class and at various dance events. Photos taken may be used for publications or advertisements, including on our website and various social media sites. If a students face cannot be shown due to legal reasons please inform the studio and instructor.

  • Liability Release: By signing the Enrollment form you agree to release and forever discharge, Meraki Dance Academy, LLC and its staff members from any liabilities growing out of or related to any activities in which I or my child participates in. I understand that this is a full and complete release of all injuries or damages which I, or my children, may sustain as a result of my/his/her participation in any activities, regardless of the specific cause thereof.
